Well, I am about to start a new job- kinda. I work at Wal-mart. Been there over 8 years. There isn't too many positions in the store I haven't done. I like moving around and learning new things. I know enough to go into the management program, but I will never do that because I like my family too much and managers work crazy long hours.

Anyway, there is a new store opening up and I applied for an office position. I got it! I am going to work in the invoice office. I am really excited and kinda nervous. Office positions are hard to get in Wal-mart. You either have to wait for someone to quit or die usually, and chances are they will die first. But when a new store opens, you have a chance as long as people without experience apply and you are more qualified than they are.

So, I think I start on the 19th. But the new manager says he wants me there on the 5th. So I don't know if I am definitely going on the 19th or the 5th. I am going to finish everything in my current department to be ready to go by the 5th, and call my new store manager by the end of this week to find out when I leave. I am nervous because I have been in the same store for over 8 years. This other store is going to be brand new with a bunch of people that have no idea what they are doing. But I think everything will be ok.

It is a further drive for me. As a matter of fact, I will be passing 4 Wal-mart stores on my way to work. But the upside, it is closer to where Mike works, so we can drive together if we want and go to lunch together.


Other than that, just trying to play catch up on DA and selling girl scout cookies with my daughters. I have eaten way too many so far. So between the girl scout cookies and getting a desk job, I hope I don't gain too much weight.
